In working with boys and young men, CLDC wants to make a difference in the community. As a community organization, CLDC is involved in many different ways. For several years, CLDC has been part of Ride for Refuge. One of CLCD’s 2012 counsellors has become a “Big Brother” for a camper through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring program. Another 2012 counsellor is serving as a community hockey coach in Mongolia on a two-year term mission commitment. CLDC’s annual Camp Fun Day provides an opportunity to get together and raises awareness. In working with school boards, group homes, foster agencies, Family and Children’s Services and other community agencies and organizations, CLDC reaches out into the wider community.
