Our pace

Our pace

We take the time others don’t.

Here, there is space for your boy’s unique pace, time for him to explore who he is, to uncover his hidden strengths, to learn new skills, to practice new habits, to gain successes and grow in confidence.

We move at a slower pace. There are no distractions from media or our rushed world. Instead, we follow the routines of camp life through our day. Throughout the day, we stop to solve problems or to explore a new discovery.

As we live with the boys, daily and ongoing therapeutic interactions build on each other to lead to lasting change.

Stay a while

Our schedule is unhurried. The boy stays as long as he needs, until he and his caregivers feel he has completed his goals and made enough progress to succeed at home and in school. The average stay is 12 to 24 months.

Here, boys have time and space to try out new habits and build patterns of success.

“Good character cannot be taught in a week or a month. It comes through the furnace of daily living and is hammered into useful form on the anvil of unrelenting daily struggles and crises. The hammer must fall repetitively, over and over before the shape takes form. That takes time.”
