Admissions: for family & friends
A note for family & friends
It’s really hard when a boy you know is struggling. As a friend, grandparent, aunt, uncle, church friend, or neighbour, it can be hard to watch a boy flounder, not knowing how to help.
At Crane Lake Discovery Camp, we welcome boys aged 10-15, helping them set goals, problem solve, and gain skills of self-regulation. With the support of our Family Worker, families can learn new techniques to support their boy.
Although only the legal guardian can apply for admission for their son, others can come alongside family members, telling them about the camp and supporting them as they apply and when their boy is at camp. They might need help with driving to camp, buying clothes, or maybe they just need a listening ear. It can be really hard raising a child who is struggling, and small kindnesses go a long way.

Role and responsibilities of the legal guardian
The legal guardian is the one who fills out the intake forms.
Throughout the boy’s time at camp, our Family Worker works closely with the legal guardian, monitoring the boy’s progress and preparing for a healthy reintegration back into school and home life.
