Admissions: for social workers
A note for social workers
Being a social worker is hard. You often meet families that are floundering, and wonder how you can help them find change that will last, change that will help them overcome their obstacles and stay out of the therapist’s office.
At Crane Lake Discovery Camp, we welcome boys aged 10-15. We work with them and their families, helping them set goals, problem solve, learn new habits, and gain skills of self-regulation. Through close contact with the families, our Family Worker can help caregivers introduce new techniques into their family systems. Read more about how Group Work functions in our program.
Although only the legal guardian can apply for admission for their son, social workers can come alongside family members, helping them to make the decision to come to camp, and supporting them as they learn and grow.
Reach out to us if you like to learn more about our program, and if it would be a good fit for the families or youth you are working with.
Role and responsibilities of the legal guardian
The legal guardian is the one who fills out the intake forms.
Throughout the boy’s time at camp, our Family Worker works closely with the legal guardian, monitoring the boy’s progress and preparing for a healthy reintegration back into school and home life.
